The historical trajectory of the Tamil Eelam national liberation struggle was firmly constructed by our National Leader upon the concrete foundation of historical materialism. Every strategic military maneuver and diplomatic engagement evolved out of a scientific evaluation of objective realities: our material capabilities, enemy counter-strategies, and global geopolitical shifts. However, the post-2009 landscape reflects a dangerous shift: mainstream Tamil political discourse has abandoned this material analysis, retreating into the comforting illusions of philosophical idealism (Idealism).
While the structural machinery of the Sri Lankan majoritarian state executes the strategic theft of Thiyaga Deepam Thileepan’s bronze statue from Nallur, the mainstream Tamil nationalist political leadership has reduced this sacred memorial into a commodity for their electoral chess games. The toxic blame games and mutual slander unfolding among Tamil factions expose a dangerous political vacuum, steering the profound cause of a devastated nation into an absolute institutional sewer. Philosophical idealism privileges subjective emotions, abstract thoughts, and superficial rituals over objective material conditions. Thileepan’s 12-day fast-unto-death was an absolute manifestation of materialistic resistance, weaponizing his physical existence to challenge state structures. Yet, contemporary politics has blunted his radical legacy into an apolitical, passive religious symbol. This transition from ideology to deification is highly favorable to oppressive states.

Today, Tamil nationalist politics is trapped within a recurring curse, spinning around the elite axis of Gajendrakumar, Sumanthiran, and Sivagnanam. Acting as a malignant cancer within the political body of the Tamil nation, their maneuvers systematically erode our collective memory and diplomatic leverage from within. Within the internal framework of contemporary Tamil politics, a severe crisis of discipline persists. The unchecked, impulsive actions of figures within the nationalist ecosystem, defying structural leadership control and institutional parameters to engage in loose, unverified public slander for short-term visibility, raise alarming concerns about the direction of our struggle. Lacking comprehensive legal or strategic blueprints, this rogue individualism and performative activism severely blunts the intellectual credibility of our resistance on the global stage.
Concurrently, the absolute political inertia of Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam combined with the calculated, deceptive strategies of M.A. Sumanthiran has disintegrated the core of Tamil self-determination politics. Incapable of managing internal organizational discipline or countering state narrative shifts, Gajendrakumar remains frozen within a passive theoretical framework. In stark contrast, Sumanthiran and C.V.K. Sivagnanam deploy legalistic rhetoric under the banner of the ITAK to compromise the historical sacrifices of our martyrs, engineering an appeasement model that systematically dismantles the territorial sovereignty of the Tamil homeland before Southern political forces.
Instead of uniting as a single indigenous nation to execute severe diplomatic resistance against the state theft of our monument under the newly installed Anura administration, these factions weaponize the sacred legacy of our martyrs against each other for parliamentary careerism. This is a supreme historical betrayal of the blood of our fallen heroes. Our history of sacrifice is not a commercial brand optimized for vote-bank harvesting! The younger generation must look beyond these performative dualities and reclaim the anti-imperialist, materialistic political intellect established by our Leader to navigate past this internal degradation.
